Simon Berggren

I am currently working closely with CTO & Lead Architect with the main assignment being optimizing CDON’s IT solution. My daily tasks range from debugging code and cloud architecture to conducting cost analysis and implementing cost efficient improvements. I also support the merger between CDON & Fyndiq, where two platforms will become one. My role helps me have a broad perspective on the whole technical solution, further giving me the possibility to help & educate other team members to share knowledge and expertise. As often as possible, I mentor developers in Azure & Code architecture to make sure they have the tools necessary to excel in their role.

I was the Tech Lead where my main responsibility was the architecture and development of a mobile app designed to improve the lives of people with hearing impairments. I was responsible of managing customer relations, stakeholders, integrations and the development team. Simultaneously I was an integral part of the daily coding & made sure the team progressed and could focus on their tasks at hand without much interference. The solution operated in 5 regions with high cost efficiency & data integrity.

I was hired to perform an investigation around StepStones processes, APIs and their monitoring. Spanning ~4 weeks, I sat together with senior developers where they could voice any opinions and thoughts. This work resulted in a report of potential improvements and action points where needed, which was taken up the command chain to create more concrete tasks.

I was part of a team that built an internal tool for their customer service. My role expanded during this role, where I started as a fullstack developer and grew into a Scrum Master. I estimated and planned sprints together with our stakeholders, which I then presented to the development team. At the end of each sprint, I planned and held a demo, showcasing the team’s results.

As a Technical Lead, I am part of Geshdo’s Tech Excellence crew, responsible for building and developing our consultants knowledge and skills. I am the only Technical Lead in Gothenburg, where I aid the expansion of Geshdo by building the culture and having technical interviews. As a Senior IT Consultant, I help clients with technical issues such as Cloud Architecture and code optimization, as well as mentoring and leading teams to develop their expertise and become more efficient.

Initially consulting as a Sharepoint Developer. I was part of a team that developed and maintained an internal sales tool. After working with the solution a while, I suggested rebuilding the front end to a smaller React site, while having micro services on backend. Largely thanks to my effort, the site went from 6 hrs nightly deployment to 0 downtime. My expertise lead the work with React, where I educated team members on the technologies we use, and a large portion of the effort was mine to plan and prioritize.

I completed my graduation project initiated by a leader at Modelon. The project involved developing a web application for modelling and simulation of dynamic systems. Following this work, the prototype became the base for a product offered by the company. As my first programming position, I was introduced to a range of languages and systems. The vanilla JavaScript solution was migrated to React with Typescript and multiple backends written in Node, Python and Java. My role was mostly front-end with some back-end support when needed. The project has today grown into a full fledged product being actively marketed and sold to large clients across the globe.

I worked as a supervisor / tutor during workshops for courses I had already completed. The tasks mainly involved answering questions, helping with problems and guiding the students towards a goal. I also had some responsibility planning workshop sessions.
