I was part of the engineering team behind Telavox's cloud-native UCaaS platform for ten years. Much of my work was in identity and access management — building integrations with Microsoft Entra ID and implementing OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows. I also worked on embedded integrations for Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and Google Workspace. Spring Boot was the core backend framework in my work there, and where services needed a shared cache I worked with Memcached and Redis. I contributed to migrating services from a proprietary in-house framework over to Spring Boot, improving testability and making the codebase easier to work with going forward. Alongside backend work, I built and maintained frontend features using React and TypeScript throughout my time there. I also used Python 2.x to build tooling for anonymizing production data and creating containerized MySQL datasets for local development and testing.

I worked on graphical simulation software for quarrying and mining operations, a search and indexing tool for laboratory results, and a license management system for controlling tool access. It was a good environment for learning to care about correctness and writing software that behaves predictably.

I worked within the compiler technology research group, doing testing, documentation, and tooling development. A good introduction to working in a technical environment where precision and clear communication matter.
